Okay, kids, I'm sure by now you've seen Ariel's post (Molly, if you haven't, I'll give you a briefing the next time I see you). Now Martin's taking care of the bastard who killed Alma, but if I've gleaned anything from her post, it's that the MO reeks of either a Rakshasa or a Charun and is thus a completely different demon altogether, although I'm leaning towards the latter considering his fondness for angels, and a damn talented one too. This is no job for one angel. Anyone who feels the need for a good hunt should meet me in the lobby and we're going to comb this damn city for that fucker before he takes out another one of us. No one's making you go- you can opt out if you want and I won't look at you sorely for it.

I don't expect results on one trip, but I want to be a step closer to finding out who this bastard is, because knowing who he is, is one step closer to making him very, very dead.

Of all the sick, audacious

All right. I don't know if you've all noticed, but Alma went out sometime earlier tonight. She left a note, saying she was out hunting, and when she didn't come back after six hours, I sent someone out to find her, and they found her... Or what was left of her.

This is the second murder on angel territory in the past month and either someone is intentionally trying to jeopardize our peace negotiations or we're dealing with a demon with no fucking respect for boundaries and at this point, both ideas piss me off severely. Especially now that it's killed one of our own.

Martin, I know you were investigating the demon who killed here in the hotel. I'm convinced it's probably the same one, because if there are two of them laughing in our face like that, then I really don't fucking want to know about it. I don't suspect you need me to tell you this especially since you were on the hunt anyway and considering you're older than I am, but this is what Vince would have done.... Anyway. I want you to make a point to find this bastard and tear it apart. You can have whatever you want to do just that. I've still got crates shoved off in one of the spare rooms with more of an arsenal than is probably necessary for dealing with the one demon, but it's no less than the fucker deserves.

[Locked to Molly] Molly, see if you can keep track of any transmissions going through directed specifically at demons. I don't think it'll help much, since I don't think this one's operating under any local demon groups and is probably a solo act, but I want to make sure there's not some shake-up going on that I don't know about. Chances are, keeping watch on just the demons won't be specific enough to get anything valuable out of it, but it's something anyway. [/locked]

My name is Mitsuki Takahashi. I’m an archangel. I contacted the basement several months ago before the plague, so perhaps maybe you’ve heard of me. At any rate, I was am Vincent Sterling’s first lieutenant and as of last night I am the highest ranking archangel in what used to be Romana’s army, which, by orders of rank, puts me in charge of whatever’s left, which, in retrospect, isn’t very many.

I’d like to take this moment to remember the dead. Good people died during this confrontation. I don’t have a list and lists are only names, not legacies, so it’s pointless to try to obtain one. Needless to say, I’m sure the dead are well remembered by their families and loved ones and will be honored in some way at some point- I can promise you that. My heart goes out to every single one of them, angel, human, and even demon.

I will take this moment to commend one Vincent Sterling, however, who very nearly gave up his life in pursuit of ending this war. At the moment, he’s in a coma and I’ve had confirmation from at least three Angels of Healing that whether or not he’ll ever come out of it is debatable. He’ll be dearly missed, but I have faith that he’ll come back to us one day and if he doesn’t- and I’m not saying he won’t, because I know Vince better than anyone living today, and he’s too stubborn to die like that- but if something goes wrong.... He’ll be remembered as a martyr to a cause. A cause I now take up and support. That we don’t need to war between ourselves. There are bigger threats that exist beyond just angels and demons- that are bigger than us, even. There’s no sense wasting our energy in wars that shouldn’t be fought because of petty blood feuds.

Romana Angelos was the First Among First Angels. She was a great warrior, a great leader, and a damn fine angel, but something changed her and whatever it was, it drove her mad and it eventually led to the most unspeakable fall from grace an angel can ever endure. She died like that, Fallen and shamed before her peers on a bloodstained battlefield that never should have existed. I’d love to say that better angels than Romana have fallen like that, but, the truth is, there are no better angels than Romana Angelos. She was the best, but this burning bloodlust consumed her and tore her apart. I won’t stand by and let that happen to another angel.

This war cost more lives than it should have. Demons and angels have been fighting for years and I don’t anticipate that will ever change. All I can hope for at this point is a chance for every side to rebuild itself anew and allow a time of peace to exist over the city for once. We can’t mitigate each others’ callings, I’m sorry to say, so I can’t guarantee that every demon will be called down and every archangel won’t hunt when they need to, but what can happen is an absence of all-out war between the two groups for no reason that winds up hurting everyone and solving nothing.

I’d also like to take this time to apologize to the Wanderers who found themselves caught in the crossfire of this war. I know I can’t take back any of the trauma these past few months may have caused for some of you, but I can offer you back your original home. Those of you who want to return to the Conrad Hotel basement may do so without fear, and those of you who may be wandering about the city without a home may call it yours if you wish. I can understand if that place holds too many tainted memories, but it was always meant for your protection and rehabilitation and I don’t want a good thing destroyed because of something as petty and foolish as this incident. If it would make you all feel better, I could discuss the matter with Ms. Smith if she’d like to meet with me. Either way, I would like to return the basement back to the Wanderers, in whose hands it truly belongs.

Take it as you will. It’s your decision whether you can ever trust my kind again, but I can promise you that as long as you don’t threaten the innocent or cause harm to my city, no harm will come to you so long as I’m in control of the archangels. You have no reason to fear us, and I’m hoping that somehow peace will prevail in these dark times.

After all this, a time of peace is what we all need.
